  • Do I have the right to choose my repair shop even if my insurance company is paying for the repairs?

    Answer: Absolutely Yes!

Plain and simple, you have the right to choose your repair shop. It’s your choice.

By law, your insurance company is required to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition. As long as you pay a reasonable price to a repair shop that utilizes industry-standard repair methods, the choice of repair shop is up to you.

  • My insurance company tells me I have to get estimates from three different repair shops. Is that true?

    Answer: No!

There is no law in the state of Missouri that requires you to obtain more than one estimate.

Insurance companies often request three estimates for your repair work because they want you to select the least expensive one. But if an insurance company tries to pay for your repairs based solely on the lowest estimate, they are in effect trying to tell you where to have your car repaired, and they cannot do that.

The lowest estimate is not always the most accurate estimate, so you have the right to choose your own repair shop, regardless of how many estimates you choose to get.

  • Can Hart Auto Body arrange for a rental car?

    Answer: Yes!

Hart Auto Body can arrange for a rental car to be ready for you the day you drop your vehicle off for repairs.

  • Is there a warranty on the repair to my vehicle?

    Answer: Yes.

You will receive a written lifetime warranty the day you pick your vehicle up. We believe we have one of the best guarantees available in the industry, and it is backed up by a company that has been in business for nearly 60 years.

  • Can Hart Auto Body “save” or “bury” my deductible?

    Answer: No.

By purchasing your insurance policy, you agreed to be responsible for the first amount of the claim up to your deductible amount. Repair shops should not be asked to “save” or “bury” the deductible. This practice is fraudulent by both the shop and the consumer.

  • After you do the paint work, will the new paint match my old paint?

    Answer: Yes!

Hart Auto Body uses the highest quality acrylic urethane paint available through the RM® refinishing system. We are able to match your vehicle color by using COLOR-MAX® matching system and SMART TRAK® computerized paint mixing systems.

  • If my vehicle's frame is bent, can that be repaired?

    Answer: Yes!

Hart Auto Body uses the latest in frame and body alignment equipment: the industry-leading Car-o-liner ® frame-straightening system with Car-o-tronic ® computerized measuring system.

We take before-repair and after-repair measurements of the frame on your vehicle. We print these out for your confirmation and ours that your frame and body have been restored to pre-accident condition.

  • What is the difference between collision, comprehensive, and liability coverage?

Liability insurance pays for damages you may do to someone else or their property in the event of a car accident. It does not cover damage to your own property.

Missouri law requires drivers to have liability insurance.

Collision insurance is optional coverage that repairs or replaces your vehicle if it is damaged in an accident, even if the accident is your fault.

Collision insurance typically requires you to pay what’s called a “deductible,” which is the first “X amount” of repair costs (as specified in your policy), after which the insurance company is responsible for the remainder of the costs.

Comprehensive insurance is optional coverage that protects against fire, theft, vandalism, glass breakage, deer hits, and other similar events

Like collision insurance, comprehensive insurance typically imposes a deductible on the policy holder.
